I started turning in 2018. The phrase or motto I try to incorporate into my woodworking overall is Wood as Functional Art. Things that show off the natural beauty that nature created and can just be enjoyed by viewing like a piece of art hanging on a wall or sitting on a shelf, or can actually be used for their created intent. Just remember that using my patented 3 footed bowl design/method requires written authorization.

I am retired in December of 2021 and started wood working by repurposing old furniture. I have been turning since September of 2022 when I got a Jet 1221 to start my turning career. Using furniture donations from friends and social media I create turning blanks for bowls (my favorite are bowls from a board), bird houses, Christmas ornaments and spoons.

I have a Shopsmith v520 so the most I can turn is something smaller than 10 inches or so. I mostly turn bowls but have turned stool legs. I belong to the HopArts group. I have been turning since 2016.
